Shining light A panoramic view of the lighthouse on Eilean Musdile in the Sound of Mull Western Isles Scotland in early morning sunlight with dark stormy clouds threatening on the horizon Sometimes images cannot be planned, and a large element of good fortune is required to make a successful picture. On this occassion we were travelling across to the Isle of Mull on the ferry just as the early morning sun broke through the thick grey cloud, and shone directly onto the island and lighthouse, leaving everything else in deep blue shadow. Some would argue that this image is purely down to luck, however, I was the only person out on deck on a cold and drizzly morning, with a camera ready, waiting and watching for the light to break.
